[Arriving in Bruges - Finding the Novotel]

Arriving in Bruges

A printable map of Bruges is available from https://bezoekers.brugge.be/city-map-bruges-2015 and an on-line map is available from https://www.brugge.be/stratenplan

There is a direct train from Brussels main train stations to Bruges. Schedules for trains in Belgium are available at http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php. It takes 10-15 minutes walking from the station to the conference location.

If you are coming from Zaventem Brussels airport: there is a train shuttle between the airport and Brussels' main stations. The easiest to go to Bruges is to take this shuttle, stop at Brussels North station, and then take a direct train to Bruges. Alternatively, depending on your arrival time, it may be (a little bit) faster to take a direct train from Zaventem airport to Ghent, and a train from Ghent to Bruges. To know the fastest way to go from the airport to Bruges, please visit http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/, enter "Zaventem airport" and "Bruges" as departure and destination stations respectively, and enter your flight arrival time. Be sure to select "Zaventem airport" and not "Zaventem", as the latter is another train station. Please note that Zaventem airport is huge, and connection time (including baggage claim) may vary considerably. We suggest you to print several schedules after your flight arrival time.

If you are coming from Paris, there is a high-speed frequent train connection between Paris (North station) and Brussels (South, or "Midi", station). The schedule is available from http://www.thalys.com/be/en/. Note that advance booking is mandatory in this train. From Brussels Midi station, take a direct train to Bruges (schedules available from http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/).

If you are coming from London, there is a high-speed frequent train connection between London and Brussels (South, or "Midi", station). The schedule is available from http://www.eurostar.com/. Note that advance booking is mandatory in this train. From Brussels Midi station, take a direct train to Bruges (schedules available from http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/).

Finding the Novotel

The Novotel hotel is at walking distance from the station (about 1 km). Taxis are usually available at the station too. Note that taxis are quite expensive in Belgium: the price could be around 10-20 euros, even if the distance is very short.
